Judie, thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your comments and the fact that the people in Leisure World pay for and enjoy the security provided. Part of the problem in my case was the fact that the Planos didn't have clear instructions. Only one of them made any comment about the gate and it was to call the agent for the gate code, not to call and be put on the list. I notice that you are the Designated Broker for Leisure World Realty and thus, know the drill. I freely admitted in the post that I don't do much showing in there and forgot the way things should have been done. Top that all off with a guard who was less than polite or helpful and it made for a frustrating experience all around. I surely don't think that my business card puts me above everyone else. I had really cool expensive cards once but I don't put a lot of stock in them now. ;-) The real point of the post was to ponder the snide trespassing comment that the guard made and how that is what I do every day when showing houses and how that's what I want other agents and their buyers to do with my listings. Trespass away...

Oh, and my clients...well they were a little put off by it. They purchased in a great little community in Gilbert where their REALTOR is free to drop in unexpectedly at any time.

The people who live in Leisure World pay for a secure environment. Does having a business card that says you are a realtor make you above everyone else. The rules for showing homes in Leisure World are simple as should be stated on your Plano. Call Listing agent for gate clearence. Then you would be allowed through with no problems. Leisure World is not like some gated communities where you just go to the gate and say i'm a Realtor or go right in they are more diligent about keeping it secure which is why so many people love living here. I bet your clients thought well they do keep it secure in here.
