A mother is a person who upon seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie. ~Tenneva Jordan

Okay, I’ll play. My Mom’s name is Julia Roberts. Not many people can say that! Also, she was the first woman in Bellingham, WA to insist that her husband (my Dad) stay in the room for my birth. She actually stood on the table and said she wouldn’t have the baby with out her husband in the room. Needless to say, they granted him entry. (: I am very thankfull for her insistance on what she thought best in all areas. I have led an interesting, but very rich and full life because of my Mom. We joke about being in an assisted living home together since we are only 18 years apart and our people tend to live into their 90′s. LOL!
I didn’t see that anyone might be disallowed, so I’m entering.
You see, I’m married to the greatest wife and mother in the world. Her name is Shar (she writes a blog called “Speaking of Phoenix Real Estate.”
I’ll focus this on three things: your unfailing love, your never ending kindness, and your incredible beauty.
Your unfailing love. Love is a verb and you truly love your family. We feel it in your tender touch. We know it when you put our needs in front of yours. We hear it in your words of encouragement. And we taste it in your provision. You go far beyond simply speaking love and you act upon it. Your daughters could not have a more loving mother – a mother who works hard for them and play hard with them and cuddles endlessly next to them (even when it is far past bedtime or far too late in the morning). You give us what we need in the ways we need it. You love us. Thank you for this unfailing love.
Never ending kindness. Shar, my love, you are kind to us, your husband and children, without end. You give and give. You provide. You think of us first. You share with us what you have – all of you; you don’t hold back. We get a whole person – our children enjoy a whole mother…all of her. I enjoy a whole wife…all of you. Thank you for this kindness. For giving to us. For going out of the way for us. For sharing all that you have and all that you are.
And your incredible beauty. Not only are you a fine specimen of a person upon which one might gaze, but your beauty runs deep into your being. Not only is your hair like gold, but your heart shines with radiant glory so that we are better for being near you. We love to be with you – you are beautiful. Beautiful from head to toe, from eyes to heart.
You mean the world to me, Shar. I couldn’t imagine life without you. So thank you for being my wife and thank you for being the mother of our children. You are loved beyond reckoning. We feel your love. We know your kindness. And we are blessed by your beauty. Thank you. Thank you!
All my love,
Matt
